Every year around this time I tend to get a bit nervous. This morning I have to head over to Dana Farber for my yearly check up. It's not too complicated, but it does end up taking the better part of a morning. I guess it's not too much and inconvenience as I'll know in a few days that I'm fit as a fiddle (hopefully). They run me through a slew of tests (chest x-ray, blood work, breathing test, and even a hearing test) to make sure that none of the chemo drugs have had any effect on me. So far, 9 years now I guess, there hasn't been any, so we're of course hoping the same is true this again year.
Today is also my birthday, the big 27! So after I'm finished with all my tests I'll head back to the office for the rest of the afternoon, then meet up with Kelly and the folks for dinner in the North End. I think we're going to head over to our favorite restaurant there, Fiore.
On Saturday night a bunch of us got together for a few drinks out in Norwood. Steve and Christy suprised me by getting me a great gift that I had been wanting for a while, but just couldn't track down. Kelly really didn't want me to have one, and she wouldn't get it for me, but I've got it now, my own scally cap. What a great birthday present right?
