I've taken on a new project for myself (since I always have to have something to be working on) that I thought up a few months back...but finally got started on this week. My goal is to take photos of every license plate in the 50 states, and of DC too, and then put together a print, poster sized or such. I think the final product will come out very cool. So far I've got Massachusetts (that was hard), New Hampshire, Connecticut, Utah, Wisconsin, and Colorado. One of the benefits of living around Harvard is that there are plenty of out of state cars in the neighborhood! So it's a slow start, but I plan on doing some searching this weekend and see if I can knock off most of New England and the mid-Atlantic states. Those should all be fairly easy to get...it's the Midwest and west coast that get me worried. I'll of course be able to get Hawaii in October when we're out there, but who knows when I'll spot the coveted "Alaska".
Now I know what your all thinking "Hey Kev...want me to email/mail you a photo of my license plate from _________________?" Not to be rude, but the answer is no. The whole goal of the project is for me to obtain the photos myself, so while I would certainly appreciate your enthusiasm towards helping, just point me in the direction of cars you see with various plates that I need.
I'll keep you posted on the progress, but I suspect this could take about 6 months or so to track them all down in my daily travels.
Have a good weekend ya'll...be sure to "keep it real".
