As promised, here is the weekend recap with a side dish of photos...
Friday night wasn't too eventful, I think we just sat around on the couch and took it easy. It was a long week so it was much needed. Saturday morning I got up, rode (indoors), and did some work, all while Kel was out at the mall for a while. Once she got back I needed to run out and do some errands along with getting her a birthday cake and balloons. Later in the night Nick and Jules came over and we polished off some Chinese food before heading downtown to celebrate Kelly and Erin's birthdays. Erin and Matt had just gotten in from Vail but tied one on and still made it out to McFaddens with us. We h ad a really good crew...some of Kel's work friends, Erin's peeps from high school...great turn out. Seraphin, Jo Jo, Jo Jo's new girl, and a bunch more. The place was packed and they had all sorts of Mardi Gras garb that they kept passing out. Beads, hats, the whole nine yards! I think everyone had a great time. The worse part of the night had to be Nick and I braving the snow and cold to go get the car so that girls didn't have to walk in their high heels through the drifts. It was all worth it though to see some tuff guy with his shirt off after he had just fought another guy outside the bar. Real smart buddy...it's about 5 degrees of and you have no shirt on. What a banana-head! Oh, there was also this girl we saw coming out of the bar wearing about 10 inch heels who took one step and bit it hard. She went down like a sack of potatoes. It was just as Kelly and the girls were leaving and you'd think one of them would stop and help the girl to her feet? Nope, they just made a B-line for the car.
Sunday I slept in a bit but then hit up the grocery store to get some supplies for the day. I made a huge eggs and home-fries breakfast for Kel after she slept in nice and late. After that I settled in to tackle the taxes and get our refunds headed in our direction. Once that was out of the way I started in on dinner...Kel's new favorite meal, manicotti. Erin came over since I offered her free grub and we got to sift through some of her images from Vail...looked really cool.
Here's the story on the penguin plunge that Steve-O did this weekend. Apparently it wasn't well pr omoted and not too many folks signed up, so it was technically canceled. Since folks like myself and others had sent Steve money he didn't want to send it back and he wasn't going to send it to the charity without "earning" it, so he and another guy on the department made their way down to the ocean and took a dip. You gotta love that he's a man of his word! Apparently it was low low tide so he had to go way out in order to get fully submerged. From what I hear the shrinkage was in full effect!
As I mentioned before, The Captain and T-Bone tore down the house in Wildwood and are about to start putting up a 3 level duplex, much better than the "shack" they had before (and I think the Captain would agree that "shack" is a kind term). It was a fine house in it's day, but it's day had past and it was time for something new. Now I didn't design the house, but I did help Pat put together some renderings so he could see what it would look like when it was all done. I posted a few of those in the photos from this weekend.
Finally, I wanted to say congrats to a good friend of mine from college, and an avid commenter here on KN.com, who got engaged this weekend, Maureen L. Congrats and keep those comments coming!
Okay, I'm beat tired and can't type anylonger so that brings us to the end (if sentences don't read correct or of there are spelling errors just ignore them and try to figure out as best you can what I was trying to say) ....To check out all the pics from the weekend and other stuff click on the album to the right entitled Mixed Bag!
