Whelp...Kel's flight out of Philly is delayed big time tonight...not getting in until close to 1am Monday! Yeah..fun stuff. I'm still here at the office cranking stuff out since there's no point in heading back to Cambridge.
Thought I'd tell you quick story that happened to the two of use about a month or so ago. You might get a kick out of this, or be totally disgusted. We're talking about a typical mid-week dinner after work. I had bought some things a few days prior and on the menu for this particular night was a simple grilled chicken Caesar salad. This chicken marinated over night so when I got home I just need to toss it on the grill and then cut up the lettuce. After washing it of course. (that's some foreshadowing there, incase you missed it.)
As Kel walked in the door the chicken was just about done and I finished putting the salad together. We sat down and went to town, both hungrier than hostages after a long days work. As we were both nearly at the end of our plates I noticed that a piece of lettuce was moving around on mine. I did a double take as I tried to figure out what in the world was going on. Turns out it was about a 1 inch long green worm that must have been hiding somewhere in the lettuce! Kel immediately spit out the bite that was in her mouth and that was it for both of us. No more salad for us that night. Hopefully he was alone and I hadn't already consumed some of his friends. We can only hope.
Next time we make a salad like that rest assured I'll be scrubbing ever nook and cranny of that lettuce!
