That photo pretty much sums up what Thursday was all about. Food, food, and a bit more food with some food on the side. Oh, and more food for desert. (note: that is not a real turkey. Well actually it was real, but now it's stuffed. More on that later)
First off I must tip my cap to Margy who as per usual went above and beyond for dinner on Thursday. It was a fairly quiet affair out in Norfy this year with just us and my grandfather and Irene joining. But, a small crew meant more of the excellent grub for us! (always gotta look on the bright side folks).
The quietness of Thursday came to a screeching halt once the weekend rolled around and the crew from NJ blew into town for the Patriots / Eagles match-up on Sunday night.
Back to Margy, once again she stepped up to the plate and knocked out another killer meal on Saturday night as the NJ come over to Norfy to fill up on some warm pasta before braving the cold temps on Sunday night. Everyone ate well and got to enjoy some great conversation...
Sunday before the game we all checked out the new Bass Pro Shop that is part of Patriots Place, a huge entertainment, retail, office, hotel complex and hall of fame that the Kraft's are building around the stadium. Bass Pro is this huge hunting, camping and fishing store that is just amazing. (now you know where that turkey photo above came from) By no means would I consider myself to be a true "outdoorsman", but this place makes you want to head out into the wilderness and never turn back. They must have about 15 full size boats in there, a trout pond that is cut away so you can see down to the bottom and even a laser riffle range where you can test your skills on various targets spread out in a natural setting. A few photos for your pleasure, taken in the camo department:
After some shopping it was back to the NJ crew's hotel to load up and head to the stadium for some tailgating.
I won't get into any of the specifics of the game, the result, or the fact that the Patriot's are still unbeaten, I'm just glad we all got to see a great game and have an even better time out in the lots firing up the grill and firing down some wobbly pops. Photos you ask?...but of course. And do I have to write "click to enlarge" anymore? You guys all know the drill by now, right?
So there you have it. Tailgating at its finest. Even Jo Jo and Jill Jill were able to join us as did one of Erin's friends from high school, Rebecca.
(editors note: This will be the last post for a while as I have some stuff coming up in the next few weeks that requires a bit more attention than kn.com. Don't take it personally, and the time will go by faster than it seems, I promise. Hang in there kid)
