Hello fellow readers...everyone well rested from the Christmas break? Oh...I guess some of you may not have been off all last week. Sorry about that. Anyway...we're back from our time down in NJ rested and ready to tackle all that 2008 will throw our way. It was actually a pretty whirlwind trip...first a night at my folks house, then down to Papple's for a night, then over to Captain's for two, onto Deb's for 4 and finally a night at Jackie and Vince's to watch the Patriots epic game. Of course we enjoyed seeing and visiting with everyone, but It'll surely feel great to be back here in our own bed tonight!
Snapped these two shots on Christmas Eve. The first is in, yep, you guessed it, Wildwood. They just put in this sign at the end of Rio Grande so we dipped over to check it out. The second is in Cape May, not far from where we had our wedding reception. Just looks cold out there doesn't it?
Oh...check out this great gift that Erin got me. It's a headlamp from LL Bean. I've always wanted one for when we're out at Purgatory Chasm crawling through the caves, but it'll also come in handy all the time. Out flipping burgers and steaks on the grill, tinkering under the hood of the car, etc, etc. The possibilities are endless when you think about it.
I've got to be at the office for most of the day tomorrow but after that it's the dreaded New Years Eve plans. I say "dreaded" because I think it's one of the most hyped nights of the year. You have to plan something...what, no plans on New Years Eve? You must be some sort of loser! Well guess what...we've got absolutely no plans for tomorrow night! We've got a few options on the table, probably just dinner with some friends and then uncork a nice bottle of champagne as we close in on midnight, but that's about it. It's just one of those nights that always seems to be over planned and then never lives up to the expectations. Plus...who really wants to be out on the roads with all those drunks out there?
Oh...one last thing. I thought it was ironic that all last week Kel was saying how nice it was not to have a ton of snow on the ground down in NJ. Much of it here melted away last week with the temps and rain, but we heard the forecast on the radio just as we got back into the state...another 4"-8" tonight. Welcome home. Let's just say she wasn't thrilled!
