With Kel's birthday over the weekend, as well as a number of other birthdays on her mom's side of the family, coupled with the fact that a lot of them had still yet to see the new house, we figured it was a great time to have them all over and host a little make-your-own pizza party!
We did a ton of prep work during the day so that things would be fairly effortless once everyone arrived. We cooked the pizza crusts to about 75% as well as chopped and half-cooked most of the toppings. This saved sooo much time and lets us crank pizzas out in no time. 8 mins in the oven and then the next batch was ready to go in. With 20 or so people we had to keep things moving quickly!
Kel's mom was around too and she was a huge help!
Check out these appitizers. Port Salut cheese and crakers, Caprese on a stick, frech baguette pesto brie and apple, and of course Kel's famous deviled eggs that I think she's now required by law to make at every family function!
I think we'll be making that caprese on a stick at every party now too! So good.
After the apps it was time to get the assembly line going and get the pizzas in the oven!
We also had folks weigh-in on what colors they favored for the downstairs walls. Hopefully we'll come to some agreement in the next few weeks and get this "little" painting project started! [these 8x10 samples from Sherwin Williams are a great way to narrow down the list. I'll still put a few actual paint samples up, but this cuts down on the cost big time!]
After pizza came time for some singing of "Happy Birthday" and some amazing cake and pies!
Hopefully a good time was had by all...I know that Kel and I had a blast!
