This past weekend our friends Mindy and Justin stopped over for a little Mexican fiesta! Mindy made the chili and Kel did the rice, corn and dessert. [since we can't find a good Mexican restaurant in these parts we've had to take matters into our own hands!]
Kelly was super excited that she got to use her fancy new herb scissors while making the special Mexican butter spread for the corn! Those chives are from our garden too...
The chili that Mindy made was great...even though it had beans in it, and I'm not a huge bean fan. She also used ground turkey...very tasty!
That corn is from the weekly Collingswood Farmers Market that we usually check out every Saturday morning. Soooooo good.
And check out this dessert that Kelly whipped up...frozen watermelon sorbet!
I need that watermelon recipe!

BFF Jill....I'm sure Kel can pass along that watermelon recipe for ya, but to be honest, we both thought it was only okay. Didn't really knock your socks off or anything like that. But give it a try and see what you think...

Jill-
Here is the recipe from their website. The weird thing is that this says 2 cups of watermelon and the one from the magazine was 5 cups (and yielded 3 cups). I assume that is a typo. Like Kev said it was alright but I didn't love it. I think maybe it needed to be more sweet.

I wanna know where you got those scissors! Do they work well on all sorts of herbs? I have struggled with all types of gadgets for chopping fresh herbs.
