My mom came mid-week and my dad followed on the weekend. We did all sorts of things, like going out to dinner, visiting me at work for lunch, watching the Patriots game, and Kelly and I even went out to a wedding on Saturday night while my folks watched J-bird. Our first time out, just the two of us, since she was born! Thanks again for watching her guys!!!
Last year we heard about large Polish Festival that takes place about an hour away from us in Doylestown, PA. It sounded like some good food and fun, so we made a point to try and get there this year. So, we loaded up #BabyJ and made the "pilgrimage" out to Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine.
And of course we dressed Miss J in appropriate attire for the event!
The food; pierogies, kielbasa, and some gawumpkies, was all pretty good, as was the beer. We always compare everything back to what we had in Polksa during our trip, so it's certainly never going to live up to those standards, but it was good nonetheless.
Found this ATM inside the exhibition hall...who knew there was a Polish credit union? I was going to transfer all my money over there...but of course it was Polish and thus didn't work!
Getting out to Doylestown is a bit of a pain in in the you-know-what, but it was still nice to get out of the house for the afternoon and take J on yet another adventure! Plus, you couldn't have asked for better weather!
Enjoy your weekend!
[Random aside...are people still reading this site? Comments are way, way, way down and I'm thinking about scaling back. No need in posting stories and photos for my own good and the 4 or 5 people I know stop in each day. Let me know if you're still out there!]
Not to get too sappy, but is there a cooler feeling/experience than a sleeping infant on your chest?
[I know she's not technically sleeping...but she was eventually. And I know I don't look happy...but I was pissed at the camera phone for not working properly as I tried to take this self portrait] [Is it a "self portrait" if two people are in there?
